This years event is over and we had many players from our Zone clubs participating. Quite a few had success winning their respective sections but the best performed player was Rocky Stone (Kempsey Macleay RSL) who with Scott Franklin (now at Lightning Ridge) in the Over 60 pairs made it to the quarter finals going down 15 to 20 P. Leon (Qld) and I. Warner (Vic) who were the eventual winners of the Australian Open over 60 pairs.
Rocky also made the last 16 in the Australian Open singles going down to Nathan Rice 9 to 21 - Nathan was the eventual runner up.
